Season 5 of LOST premiered tonight, and something very strange happened: it actually started to make sense for once. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t have shit from shit figured out (flaming arrows flying across the night sky?! What tha?), but the Daniel Faraday character (Jeremy Davies) is finally less annoying, and has become what would seem to be the key to understanding the island. And I’m sure there will be something from his past that will explain how and why he started that Dharma journal/book. Thus, concludes my LOST theorizing for this post.
It would seem that in this episode, the writers gave us a lot of nuggets to ponder upon: What is Ben’s plan? What is Sun and Kate gonna do? Who sent those dudes to Kate’s house? Why is Desmond so “special?” Who was that butcher lady? How are they gonna break Hugo out of jail and get his ass to the island? And who on earth was that woman in that basement with that crazy contraption that etched things onto the floor?!
All in an episode’s work, I suppose. Is the next episode really a whole week away? Gaa!

P.S.

Yup, I (and my son) met Sayid!!! (At an airport, no less!)

One Comment
The woman from the basement in the church is the woman from when Desmond was back in the real world after the hatch detonation. She was the one from the jewellery store that told him that he couldn’t change anything and that he had to go back to the island.
I assume Daniel said that Desmond is “special” because Desmond is Daniels constant and that thing Daniel told him Desmond will actually remember and can do something about.
Great two episodes btw.
